About me

Having the last name Nordstrom is pretty cool and just in case you were going to ask, No we are not related to the famous store owners and I am most certainly not referring to my rack (after nursing six babies my rack is nothing to brag about) but rather the irony that I can't afford to shop at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack for that matter. Oh boy I could go for a six pack right about now. No, I'm not a drinker, I don't even like soda all that much but I sure do love my 6 pack. I realize how quickly they grow up and I'm trying to drink in every precious minute of them while they are still young and full of wonder and so you see working out and losing those unwanted baby pounds just isn't happening as quick as I would like them to, so in the mean time I'm going to keep on praying for my rock hard abs and hope that dancing in the kitchen with my little ones will melt the pounds away. I'm sure my sisters will find all this quite humorous and clever coming from me. Humor and wit really are not my talents so please don't expect much from my blogging other than some pictures of
our family just doing our thing.

Naughty and Nice

I know it is a little late but we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! We hope everyone had a great Christmas. We sure did aside from all the crying, whining, fighting etc. and despite it all we still made the nice list. Santa treated us very well just for good effort. This Christmas we tried some new traditions and tried to eliminate some old ones. It didn't really go very well but I'll save that for later. One tradition is a trip to Temple Square to see the lights and we did it again this year but this time we had a plan and for the most part it went well except for the bad attitudes. Surprisingly, there are some smiles in the picture. We tried going to Temple Square during the day so we could fit in more sight seeing and then be there in time to see the the lights just as they came on and then head out of the crazy crowds early before it got too cold and everyone was miserable. It all went pretty well but like I said everyone was in a bad mood that day so a long day probably was the best but we toured the conference center, saw the Joseph Smith movie, found ancestors in the salt lake cemetery and even some prophets too, rode the tram to the Gateway for dinner and saw some exhibits at the planetarium, and then back to see the lights. It was still super crowded and the kids froze to death so we went home pretty quickly after the sun went down. Then home for donuts and Hot Chocolate but every one was asleep so we saved it for breakfast the next morning. Too much for one day? Maybe that explains the crankiness.
Reed Played the role of Santa in his class play and did an excellent job at it. He had all his lines memorized and sang his little heart out. After the play he had many requests from children and adults to sit on his lap and get a quick photo. Super fun! Even Grandma Nordstrom got in on the fun. Up until this night I was with out a camera for a couple of months and had a great plan for a pictureless Christmas. I was journaling everything we did every day starting Dec. 1st(I still journaled it all even with a camera, I'll have to post it later maybe) but just before we left for Reed's program we got a package in the mail and in it was a camera. I was elated that we didn't have to miss documenting this event for Reed. Thanks Tami, Ashley, Robin or who ever it was who supplied the camera. We love it.

  1. Oh the kid attitude, that is one reason we just stay home more often than we should.
I guess we all have the ideal in our head of what family outings should look and feel like. Ours have never quite matched up to what I can create in my head!
Glad you had a good Christmas and cute picture of Santa Reed with his grandma!

  2. He makes a good Santa. But I still want to see kids in their beanie's.
